3FM Debate: John Dumelo and Lydia Alhassan almost brawled
The debate held for the two parliamentary candidates of Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Lydia Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), almost ended up in a brawl.
In a debate held by 3FM, the incumbent parliamentarian for the electoral area, Lydia Alhassan, made distasteful remarks which chafed John Dumelo and led him demanding an apology from the former.
According to Mr. Dumelo, the laptops he shared to tertiary students are by far his single large accomplishment.
“We have done a lot for the constituency. I’m a youth, an entrepreneur, and a farmer. I know how it feels to be a youth in this constituency.
“Our works afar in the constituency is to provide employment and aid to the constituents. Our laptop policy is the single largest Initiative in the constituency.”
But madam Lydia Alhassan referred to that initiative of her opponent as an "After-thought" action.
John Dumelo got infuriated by it and sort to leave but he was restrained by a couple of 3 FM's team.
He took to twitter to again register his displeasure. He tweeted
"You came 2 hours late to a debate and used your 15mins allocation to say I don’t have sense? I’m impressed….. pic.twitter.com/wdwidunv6c
