A High Court to give verdict on Sene West constituency parliamentary election results

On Thursday, after an injunction was imposed following a petition by the New Patriotic Party, the Wenchi High Court will rule on the Sene West Parliamentary election.

The Tato battor Polling station B ballot box of the Sene West Constituency is yet to be counted after one Christian Nukpeta snatched the ballot box while the election results were being counted.

While Christian Nukpeta was immediately detained, the parties involved found that the seal of the NPP's ballot box had been withdrawn, leaving that of the NDC and the Electoral Commission.

As a consequence, lawyers for the Sene West parliamentary candidate of the NPP, Joseph Markay Kuma, immediately requested the court's injunction to stop the EC from counting the ballot papers in the frame.

The ballot box was then locked up in the police headquarters at Techiman.

However, Joseph Markay Kuma's lawyer withdrawn his motion for an injunction relating to the announcement of the findings as filed in his petition.

Although the court granted the petitioners a price of six thousand cedis for the withdrawal of the petition, the court is expected to rule on the matter on Thursday, 17 December.

Lawyer Victor Kojoga Adawudu heads the NDC legal team.
