Afia Akotoo takes a swipe at Teshie constituents, says voting Oko Boye out shows how backward they are
A leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Afia Akoto, ignored the mood of the season and took a swing at the people of Teshie in the midst of the ongoing yuletide festivities; describing them as shameless and backward thinkers with little appreciation for progress.
Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe, Deputy Chief Executive of Masloc and Deputy Director of Communications of the NPP, reacting to a post on the Facebook wall of fellow NPP member Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe, suggested that the indigenous people of Teshie have a skewed development viewpoint, which is why they voted against the incumbent MP and Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye.
Afia Akoto's vitriolic remarks have contributed to the barrage of insults from the New Patriotic Party that have been hurled at the constituents of the Ledzokuku district, following the party's loss of the parliamentary seat in the December 7 polls.
