The ceremony was in keeping with the campaign pledge of the MP to lift the status of the city.
In a short ceremony in Wli, Mr Amewu, who doubles as Minister of Energy, thanked the group for massively endorsing his candidacy.
I want to tell you that it's all about growth at Wli from now on. I'm beginning all my campaign pledges here at Wli,' he said.
He added that in the Hohoe Constituency, the architectural style of the yet to be constructed palace will make it a tourist attraction.
The palace is a two-storey building with a capacity of 1,500 seats on the ground floor, according to Mr. Amewu, and offices on the first floor for the paramount chief, queen mother, and other chiefs. He said the building will also have a library stocked with washrooms.
The facility's construction is valued at GH 2 million.
Togbega Lo, Wli Traditional Area's paramount chief, expressed gratitude to Mr. Amewu for his kind gesture and support for the community's residents.
Mr. Joseph Homenya, Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of Volta, urged members of the party to ensure that their celebrations were modest.
A Traditional Council status was also given to the Wli community, rendering it autonomous.
The area was historically governed by the Akpini Traditional Council for years and was ranked among the top tourism enclaves for the Wli waterfall in the country.
Mr Amewu also conducted a similar ceremony at Hohoe Zongo for construction of an ultramodern Chief's Palace for the city.
Mr. Kwame Amenyo of Hub Amenyo Company Limited, the building company for the two towers, said that they would be completed within four to six months.
