Latif Blessing, Kwadwo Opoku face defeat in North American championship
In the CONCACAF (North America) Champions League final with Los Angeles FC on Tuesday night at Mario Escobar stadium in Guatemala, Ghanaian duo Latif Blessing and Kwadwo Opoku tasted defeat.
Los Angeles lost 2-1 to Tigres UANL of the Mexican fold.
Los Angeles broke the deadlock in the 61st minute by Diego Rossi after an evenly fought first 45 minutes. In the 72nd minute, before Andre-Pierre Gignac scored the winner for Tigres with just 6 minutes to go, Hugo Ayala leveled matters.
In recent days, Latif Blessing, whose future at the club is unclear and linked to a move to Tigres UANL, played full throttle and was outstanding throughout, while Kwadwo Opoku was inserted into the recess game.
The Ghanaian duo will hope for better luck next time with their Los Angeles teammates.
