Minority MPs protest march to EC office ends up in a police clash (Video)

MPs of the opposition NDC have promised to boycott all EC legislative operations.

Speaking to the media after the police allegedly prevented them from sending their petition to the EC, minority leader Haruna Iddrisu said they would also boycott all appearances by the EC in parliament.

When the petition was read out, he claimed that the results of the Techiman South constituency would not be accepted because it was unfairly ruled in favor of the NPP.

NDC MPs invaded the Electoral Commission (EC) offices today, December 22, to protest the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor, MP for the Volta Region South Dayi Constituency, explained that "we are marching to the EC office to voice our displeasure with the EC." We're going to go to court. We're going to go to court. The NDC will go to court, but these demonstrations are only part of the series of protests before that.

This has unfortunately ended up in a clash with the police as the MPs forced their way through the barricades.

The petition was read by the minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu, there and then.
