NDC Zongo Caucus Coordinator calls for removal of Sheikh Aremeyaw from ONCI
Sheikh Aremeyaw, the acting chairman of the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO), was alleged to have had many meetings and engagements with the governing New Patriotic Party prior to the December 7th polls, which culminated in the government promising him a juicy role in their next term should the party win the elections.
The explanation for the removal of the Sheikh is that, he said in a presser, the CODEO figures accumulated from the 2020 elections were "consistent" with that of the Electoral Commission, meanwhile the EC boss, Jean Mensa, had admitted to announce wrong figures.
Since then the EC's website and social media handles have changed numbers.
For this reason, Ali Ismaila Horoya, the Greater Accra Zongo Caucus Coordinator (NDC) took a stab at the CODEO boss calling for his immediate dismissal from the National Chief Imam office.
According to Horoya, such characters aren't suited for the National Chief Imam known for his independence and truth.
He said Sheikh Aremeyaw has dented the country-wide reputation of Chief Imam and entire Muslim fraternity, and should be sacked by now.
“This is somebody who cloth himself and lie to people that he is sheikh and speak for the National Chief Imam but very dangerous to our nation building “, he stated
Mr. Sumaila Ali Horoya, speaking to the Ghanaian Democrat in an interview in Accra, urged all Muslims not to take the Sheikh seriously and must be seen as one of the NPP surrogates planted at the ONCI to advance their agenda.
He challenged Sheikh Aremeyaw to openly deny that he is not a member of the NPP card bearing.
The Zongo Caucus Coordinator threatened to expose Sheikh Aremeyaw and prove to the entire nation that he is an NPP planted at ONCI to follow an agenda just as they did by organizing the shambolic Thanksgiving on Friday on Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu's blind side.
