"We can decide to protest as “Friends of Bawaleshie” to avoid this ban" - John Dumelo
John Setor Dumelo, Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the just-ended elections in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, urged the Ghana Police Service to restrict demonstrations in Accra in general as well.
His comments follow an announcement by the Ghana Police Service suggesting that it had received a restraining order prohibiting the NDC from protesting from 20 December to 10 January in Accra.
But the best decision for Dumelo will be to bar all Ghanaians from protesting, because the NDC can't stop protesting.
To him, with different group names, the NDC will complain, which will drum home the same message of the Electoral Commission doing the right thing.
John Dumelo said in a tweet that “Ndc banned by the police from further protests? We can decide to protest as “Friends of Bawaleshie” to avoid this ban anaa? They might as well ban every Ghanaian from protesting”.
