Mohammed Kudus makes return from injury after 2 months layoff
Mohammed Kudus made his return from injury as Ajax came from 2 goals down to draw 2-2 against rivals PSV at the Johan Cruijff Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Kudus suffered an injury to his meniscus in his right knee in October’s UEFA Champions League game against English Champions Liverpool.
The 20-year-old underwent a successful surgery and was ruled out for “several months”.
However, Kudus returned to full training last month and was named amongst the substitutes for the game against PSV.
A brace from Eran Zahavi gave PSV a 2-0 lead, Quincy Promes pulled 1 back before the break, before Anthony Santos scored in the 65th minute to make it 2-2.
Kudus was introduced into the game in the 80th minute, he came on for Quincy Promes, but his inclusion couldn’t change the outcome of the game as it ended 2-2.
Kudus will hope to earn a starting role when Ajax travel to the Grolsch Veste Stadium to face FC Twente.
