17 African countries have so far received covid-19 vaccine

As of March 6, 2021, the COVAX equitable vaccine delivery program has distributed 12 million doses of coronavirus vaccine to 17 African countries.
According to Matshidiso Moeti, the head of the World Health Organization's Africa region, six of the 17 countries have begun vaccination so far.
Djibouti, which is classified as being in the Eastern Mediterranean Region by the WHO, was the most recent recipient of doses. The majority of the countries that have been served so far are in the Sub-Saharan African region.
The Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines are available in the majority of countries. Only Rwanda has obtained the AstraZeneca vaccines, as well as the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines, which must be stored in very cold temperatures.
Nigeria received the largest shipment so far, with nearly 4 million doses shipped only a few days ago. Vaccination began yesterday, and President Muhammadu Buhari got his coronavirus shot in front of the entire nation today.
