“We cannot win the league title because we are competing with the Government” – General manager of Great Olympics
Accra Great Olympics |
General Manager of Accra Great Olympics Oloboi Commodore has downplayed his outfit’s chances of winning the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
Great Olympics were in fine form in the first round of the Premier league. The Dade Boys finished the round in 2nd place with 30 points, just a point behind leaders Karela United.
In spite of that, general manager of the club Oloboi Commodore has stated that his side cannot challenge for the title because they are competing with Karela who are heavily financed by the government.
“Olympics can win this year’s league but we might not because we are competing with the Government,” Oloboi told OTEC FM.
“All the clubs playing the league are competing with the Government because GNPC and GH-Gas are supporting Karela FC with the country’s money to succeed.
“Money that is supposed to be shared among the clubs,” he added.
Great Olympics who are in search of their third league trophy and first since 1974 will begin the second round of the Premier league with a home fixture against Medeama.
