Zongo Business Incubator (ZOBI) outdoors four new projects and programs for youth development and women empowerment

The Zongo Business incubator on 27th February, 2021 launched four new projects and programs aimed at ensuring the socioeconomic development of young people and women in Zongo communities across the country. This activity took place at the organization’s 4th year anniversary celebration at the Afro Arab Arena, Kokomlemle - Accra.
According to the new CEO of Zongo Business Incubator, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Hamid; these projects and program were carefully developed out of in-depth research aimed at finding sustainable solution to address specific developmental gaps in Zongo communities.
He further mentioned that the organization has over the years made tremendous impacts through several programs and initiatives in the past. So far, over 700 businesses have been impacted by the organization in the past 4 years. As part of the organization’s realignment and reorganization. It has identified 4 focus areas of operations, namely; Business and Entrepreneurship, Research and Consultancy, Technology and Innovation and investments.
The four new projects and programs out doored are; the Investing In Technology (IIT) Bootcamp which a technology training to be implemented in partnership with the Young African Leaders Initiative’s Regional Leadership Centre, West Africa and Vodafone Ghana foundation. The other Programs include the Zongo Women Entrepreneurship and empowerment Program (ZWEEP), Digital Skills Development Program (DSDP) and the Zongo Apprenticeship Support Program (ZASP).
These new initiatives forms part of the organization’s strategic plan for the next five years (2021 – 2025). According to the Co-founder and former CEO of Zongo Business Incubator, Mr. Abdulsalam Mohammed Daaru, there is a need for stronger local partnership between development institutions in working to solve the challenges of communities. He therefore called on all local and international stakeholders and organizations in the youth development space to support these new initiatives.
The Public Relations Officer of the organization, Rahma also assured the general public that the new projects are going to be more impactful and sustainable than all previous projects. She further averse that the organization is stronger, accountable, committed to its strategic objectives and more passionate about its serving the people of Zongos across the country.
