Identify yourselves properly as "Muslims" on day of census - Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission to members

Ghlense.net has sighted a post which states that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission has disassociated itself from a 2021 census questionnaire circulating on social media which indicates that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, is separate from Islam.

In a press release, the mission has stated that it completely distance itself from the wrong segregation of muslims. 

"The Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission wishes to distance itself completely from such wrongful categorisation of Muslims. We are Muslims and demand to be recognised as such."

The mission further encouraged all its members to stand up and "PROPERLY IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AS MUSLIMS" on day of census.

It as well wishes to alert the Ghana Statistical Services to right the anomaly to avoid chaos on the day of census.

What is Population and Housing Consensus?

According to the Ghana Statistical Services, "A Population Census is the official enumeration of all persons in a country at a specified time. The enumeration also implies the collection, compilation, evaluation, analysis, publication and dissemination of demographic, social and economic statistics relating to the population.

A Housing Census is the official enumeration of all living quarters (occupied and vacant) in a country at a specified time. This enumeration also implies the collection, compilation, evaluation, analysis, publication, and dissemination of statistical data pertaining to these living quarters and the occupants."
