ASEPA Petitions CHRAJ to Investigate Executive Secretary of Land Commission
The Executive Secretary of Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) Mensah Thompson has hinted that they are filing a petition to the Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ)to investigate the executive secretary of the Lands Commission, Sulemana Mahama over some corruption acts.
According to Mensah Thompson, within four (4) years, the number of litigation cases reported at court has risen to about 60% meanwhile the commission is responsible to ensure that there is proper litigation free land tenure system in the country.
He asserted that the executive secretary of the Lands Commission, Alhaji Daud Sulemana Mahama is directly involved in a lot of illegal sales of lands and several issues of corruption which disqualifies him to occupy that seat.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra, Mensah Thompson indicated that, on a daily basis, they hear of countless lamentations from many Ghanaians, who face great difficulty in trying to access services at the Lands Commission due to the corrupt nature of the executive secretary of the commission.
Therefore filling a petition with CHRAJ to investigate, Alhaji Daud Sulemana Mahama, executive secretary of Lands Commission.
The Executive Secretary of Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) Mensah Thompson further appealed to government to called for the immediate removal of the executive secretary of Lands Commission, Alhaji Daud Sulemana Mahama from office, because he does not have the capacity to execute the mandate of the commission under Article (767)
