Ismail Abdul Ganiyu late penalty ensured that Kotoko were 2-0 victors over Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors were making a return to their favorite grounds after a 1 year and 8 months absence and the score line would have flattered coach Nartey’s side who had to dig deep for the results.
The Visiting side won 4-0 in their opening game against Medeama and played confidently throughout the game but were however wasteful in the final third.
The game seem to be heading for a stalemate until Ganiyu popped up to score in the 83rd minute to give Kotoko the lead following a great work from super substitute Isaac Oppong to win the penalty.
The Kotoko captain was lucky to stay on the pitch after a rush tackle on Emmanuel Avornyo but was more composed to tuck home from the spot-kick to give Kotoko the lead.
The defender finished as the top scoring defender in the league last-season and has continued from where he left the previous season.
Substitute Samuel Boateng added a second to ensure the three points is in the bag with the last-kick of the game.
Kotoko will look to extend their winning streak to three when they face Bibiani Gold Stars in their next fixture.
