Ghana finally announce squad to face Nigeria in World Cup playoff
The technical team of the Black Stars have finally announced the squad to face Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup playoff.
Ghana is scheduled to take on Nigeria on Friday, March 25 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium and on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja for a place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be played in Qatar later this year.
In the squad for the playoff are regular faces Thomas Partey, Daniel Amartey, Alexander Djiku, Andy Yiadom, Gideon Mensah, Daniel Kofi Kyereh and so on.
French-born and Gent midfielder Elisha Owusu earns his maiden call-up. He’s joined by Belgium-born, Club Brugge full back Dennis Odoi and Hearts of Oak left-back Dennis Korsah as players to earn maiden call-up.
Also in the team are returnees Mohammed Kudus, Richard Ofori, Joseph Aidoo, Christopher Antwi Adjei, Kwasi Okyere Wriedt and Yaw Yeboah. AS Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan has also been included in the squad.
Andre Ayew and Benjamin Tetteh miss out due to suspension, whiles Baba Rahman and Kamaldeen Sulemana are out due to injuries.
