World of Hope International School holds 7th graduation and awards ceremony
The Chairman of Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of the World of Hope International School (WOHI), Mr. Quashie Quaye has called for community support towards the youth as a way to help unearth their talents and properly position them ahead for a brighter future.
He equally called on parents and guardians to help prioritize the educational needs of their children and constantly offer them the needed support towards realization of their future dreams.
He was delivering his keynote address on a theme: “Developing the child’s career through education” at a ceremony to mark the 7th graduation ceremony of seven (7) young scholars of the World of Hope International School who passed out from kindergarten 2 to Class 1 on Thursday December 15, 2022.
The lively ceremony was graced by parents and guardians, educationists, heads of educational institutions, traditional authorities and community folks.
Addressing parents, teachers and pupils at the function held at the school premise situated at Samsam Odumase in Accra, Manager of the school, Mr. Moro Addy admonished parents and caregivers to endeavor to protect the rights of children as enshrined in the UN Convention.
Mr. Addy observed that the child’s rights of survival, protection, participation and development are key to the grooming of children into responsible adults in society.
``As parents, guardians and teachers, we should touch the lives of children in a positive way bearing in mind that children are influenced mostly by the activities of the society, be it positive or negative; so, we must do well to leave good examples for them to follow”, he posited.
He charged the graduands to embrace the discipline they have acquired while in school and be guided by them to be responsible young adults.
While commending the young scholars for their breakthrough, Mr. Addy used the occasion to appeal to parents and guardians to do their possible best and ensure their ambitions are well nurtured in order to guarantee a better future for them.
The highpoint of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates of merit to the young graduates but the thrill of the occasion came from a scinscilating lineup of choreographed Ghanaian dances and drama sketches by school children.
Some deserving students and staff of the school who have distinguished themselves through study and work have also been recognized.
World of Hope International School is a private institution responsible for effective teaching and learning and raising of young future leaders in Ghana.
Established in 2007 as a preschool, the reputable Institution is the brainchild of World Hope International (WOHI), a non-governmental organization (NGO) which was formed by a US-based philanthropist, Monica Westin with the aim of changing the world and making difference in the lives of children in areas of human rights, tolerance, non-violence education and health aware creation among others.
