CONGRESSMAN HAKEEM JEFFRIES AND HIS DELEGATION VISIT THE DIASPORA AFRICAN FORUM (DAF) IN GHANA
The Diaspora African Forum (DAF) held a welcome reception for Congressman Hakeem Jeffries and his delegation on Saturday, 22nd April 2023 at the DAF Embassy inside the historic W.E.B DuBois Centre.
Congressman Hakeem Jeffries represents the diverse Eighth Congressional District of New York and is serving his sixth term in the United States Congress.
In that capacity, he is the highest-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives. His Delegation included, Steven Horsford (NV-04), Chair, Congressional Black Caucus Member, Financial Services Committee Member, Armed Services Committee, Gregory Meeks (NY-05), Ranking Member, Foreign Affairs Committee, Member, Committee on Financial Services, Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-25) , Member, Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, Member, Committee on Appropriations, Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05), Member, Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Member, Financial Services Committee among others.
H.E Dr. Erieka Bennett, the Founder & Head of Mission for DAF and some Board members, Representatives of the La Dade Kotopon Municipal Assembly, Members of African American Association of Ghana, the fraternities and sororities of the Divine 9 were in attendance to receive the delegation.
H.E Erieka Bennett presented Congressman Hakeem Jeffries a gift of an originally made in Ghana chocolate customized with his photograph as a symbol of her appreciation. She also presented a book that stems deeply from the root of her life entitled; ‘’Aging Gracefully, ‘’Listening to Your Body’’.
She further presented a customized perfume in celebration of her 73rd Birthday on the 23d of April, 2023, to the Congresswomen.
