"Maybe he’s been a bit harsh on himself; he can learn from De Gea" J. Evans on Onana

Jonny Evans believes Andre Onana can learn from David de Gea, the goalkeeper he replaced at Manchester United, in an exclusive interview with TNT Sports. Onana has struggled to adjust to life at Old Trafford after making some notable mistakes in his first few appearances, including giving up the opening goal in the Red Devils' 4-3 Champions League defeat.
However, Evans said that the gloveman may have been being "harsh" on himself over the event when he spoke to TNT Sports ahead of United's match against Burnley this weekend, which you can watch live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
The defender, who returned to United in the summer, cited De Gea, who struggled at first after coming to England from Atletico Madrid in 2011, but went on to become a club legend over the following 12 years before leaving.
“I've seen that quite a lot. And I've experienced that myself.
“He's replacing David de Gea, who was here for a long time. Again, remember, David at the start of his career at Manchester United, maybe went through a bit of a tough time to settle in and we saw what sort of career he would go on to have for this club.”
After graduating from the academy, Evans made his United League debut in 2008 and stayed with the team for the next seven years, helping them win three league titles before moving on to West Brom and then Leicester.
After being released by The Foxes, he trained with United throughout the summer before re-signing on a short-term contract. He has played as a substitute once this season, EuroSport wrote.
