NPP Primaries: Team Akoto demises claims of condemning Alan’s resignation
The Campaign Team of New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential aspirant hopeful, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, released a statement denying a purport write up that suggested Dr Afriyie Akoto condemning Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen for his decision to withdraw from the race.
In the statement signed by Peter Oteng Darko the National
Coordinator for Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto Campaign described the earlier statement
in circulation as malicious and condemned the act while advising the general
public to disregard it.
“We would like to state without any equivocation that
no such malicious content has emanated from the Communication Wing of Hon. Dr.
Owusu Afriyie Akoto Campaign Team.”
“We condemn the said statement in its entirety and
urge the general public, especially, the NPP fraternity to disregard the
content in it and treat it with the contempt that it deserves.” The statement
read.
Alan Kyerematen on Tuesday, September 5 withdrew from
the polls on citing alleged intimidation of his supporters and manipulation of
the election in favour of one candidate.

RE: STATEMENT FROM THE COMMUNICATION TEAM OF DR.
OWUSU AFRIYIE AKOTO
Our attention has been drawn to a shocking, surprise
and spiteful write-up purported to have come from the Communication Wing of
Hon. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto Campaign Team that suggests a malicious
condemnation of one of the presidential candidates, Hon. Alan Kwadwo
Kyerematen, regarding his withdrawal from the final NPP presidential primary
slated for November 4, 2023.
We would like to state without any equivocation that
no such malicious content has emanated from the Communication Wing of Hon. Dr.
Owusu Afriyie Akoto Campaign Team.
We condemn the said statement in its entirety and
urge the general public, especially, the NPP fraternity to disregard the
content in it and treat it with the contempt that it deserves.
Such an act has the tendency to cause disaffection and
enmity between Hon. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Hon. Alan Kyerematen, and their
followers.
We would, however, like to use your medium to send a
note of caution to the perpetrators of this diabolic agenda to refrain from
their dastardly act as
acts like this, has no place in the NPP culture.
Thank You.
Signed:
Peter Oteng Darko
(National Coordinator for Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto
Campaign Team)
