Onana's mistake and Man Utd's loss "epitomizes" Utd's season - R. Ferdinand
A. Onana |
Rio Ferdinand thinks that Andre Onana's error, which allowed Bayern Munich to score first during Manchester United's 4-3 Champions League loss, "epitomizes United's season."
The Cameroonian goalkeeper couldn't quite hold onto the ball as the shot slid underneath him and into the goal as the Bavarian giants seized the lead after Leroy Sane played a clever one-two to Harry Kane to create space for himself.
Four minutes later, Bayern struck again. Jamal Musiala worked his way up the left side of the field before drawing the ball back and finding Serge Gnabry, who used his left foot to double the lead for the home team, Eurosport reported.
Erik ten Hag's team did not need this start, as they had dropped three of their first five Premier League games. Ferdinand said that Onana should have performed better for Bayern's opening goal and that United's dismal campaign start was in line with the mistake.
