Partey, Kamaldeen missing from Ghana squad for AFCON qualifiers
Head coach of the Ghana Black Stars, Chris Hughton has named his squad for Ghana's final round of Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The 25-man team was unveiled by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Saturday, September 2, 2023.
Arsenal's Thomas Partey and Southampton's Kamaldeen Sulemana are missing from the list while Inaki Williams and Baba Rahaman return after missing the last qualifies.
Also, in the squad are Elisha Owusu and Baba Iddrisu, who make a return to the squad after recovering from their respective injuries.
Chris Hughton also named Medeama SC forward Jonathan Sowah in the list as the only local-based player.
The Black Stars are seeking qualifications for next year's tournament in Cote d'Ivoire and require a least a draw against Central Africa on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
