One of the top wide receivers for the Dolphins' explosive offense could miss Sunday's game against the Broncos, the NFL reported.
Jaylen Waddle, who participated in limited capacity in Friday's practice, is still in the concussion protocol and is regarded as questionable to play.
On September 17, during Miami's victory over the Patriots, Waddle suffered a concussion after receiving a helmet-to-helmet blow from New England linebacker Marte Mapu during an incomplete pass.
The third-year wideout, who is second on the team with eight receptions for 164 yards, has acted as Tyreek Hill's sidekick through the first two games (16 catches, 255 yards, three touchdowns), but he is a potent weapon whose presence enables Tua Tagovailoa's system to function at its peak.
Miami will have to rely more on receivers Braxton Berrios and River Cracraft if he does miss Sunday's game in order to keep Denver's defense on its toes while facing a threat like Hill.
Waddle still has two days to finish the procedure, but his attendance at Friday's practice after missing the first two is encouraging.
