Job Position: Category Manager, Africa

Several of our local brands have been kitchen staples for consumers for over a century, deeply ingrained in the local culture.

Today, with a turnover of approximately 1.4 billion euros and a dedicated team of around 3,300 professionals, we stand as the preferred choice for millions of consumers.

We are currently on the lookout for a dynamic Category Manager to join our Africa Regional team.

Job Purpose

This role's core mission is to drive project management excellence, actively contribute to the development of our product innovation pipeline, and construct a holistic brand strategy that harmonizes with our overarching goals.

Role & Responsibilities

- Spearhead the development and execution of the broader Africa product innovation pipeline, collaborating with business units to navigate projects from ideation to launch.

- Forge a consumer-driven innovation pipeline and product propositions in conjunction with key cross-functional teams (insights, analytics, R&D).

- Formulate business cases (in collaboration with R&D, operations, sales, finance, supply chain, procurement, etc.) that yield key performance indicators, encompassing cost estimates, pricing, and capex.

- Take the lead in project commercialization, ushering projects from concept to realization, in cooperation with key cross-functional teams (product development, operations, regulatory, legal, finance, sales, etc.), spanning product and packaging development, manufacturing pathways, and marketing mix.

- Analyze industry and consumer trends and devise long-term strategies for product categories to maximize consumer appeal.

Requirements

Knowledge And Experiences;

- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Possessing an advanced degree is advantageous.

- A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in the consumer goods sector in a leadership capacity.

- Demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit with a profound understanding of owning a business or category, with the flexibility to adapt to evolving narratives.

- A proven ability to craft innovative, consumer-driven product plans and execute them with excellence.

- Experience in formulating and delivering consumer value propositions.

- A genuine passion for the consumer, with creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Previous involvement in the commercialization process, particularly in new product development.

- Proficiency in the French language is a plus.

- Willingness to travel frequently.
