The University of Maine is offering a select number of International Presidential Scholarships, recognizing outstanding academic performance, each valued at US$15,000 per academic year.

Benefits of University Of Maine Undergraduate Scholarship
These scholarships are typically awarded simultaneously with an offer of admission to the University of Maine and are renewable for a specific duration:
- A maximum of 8 semesters (4 academic years) for students entering as first-year applicants.
- A maximum of 6 semesters (3 academic years) for transfer students.
Requirements for University Of Maine Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification
Eligibility is open to international first-year and transfer undergraduate students.
However, students receiving the Canadian resident tuition rate or those sponsored by other organizations are not eligible for this award.
The scholarship renewal is contingent on students maintaining full-time enrollment and a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.00.
Please note that this award is for a maximum of 8 semesters (4 academic years) for first-year applicants and 4 semesters (2 academic years) for transfer students.
Recipients must also maintain a non-immigrant student visa status (F-1 or J-1) to remain eligible for the scholarship.
The University of Maine International Presidential Scholarship is bestowed upon exceptional international applicants, and female applicants, as well as those from countries underrepresented in the university's international student population, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Application Deadline
Applications for University Of Maine 2024-2025 International Presidential Scholarships must be submitted by November 1, 2023.
How to Apply for University Of Maine 2024-2025 International Presidential Scholarships
To apply, please complete one of our applications: either the Common Application or the ApplyMaine Application.
Additionally, submit transcripts of all previous secondary/high school or university work, along with a certified English translation if the document is not in English. (submission requirements by country)
We accept copies of transcripts and test scores submitted by the student to internationaladm@maine.edu.
After admission, official documents must be submitted to our office before class registration.
Submit your English language proficiency test score and pay the $50 non-refundable application fee here.
Please also submit a Declaration of Finances and supporting documents via e-mail. Lastly, provide a copy of your passport ID page via e-mail to internationaladm@maine.edu.
It is important to note that applicants are considered for the International Presidential Scholarships during the review of their admission application, and no additional application is required.
SAT and ACT scores are not necessary for consideration for this award.
