The Cambridge Commonwealth, European & International Trust emerged from the merger of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the Cambridge Overseas Trust on August 1, 2013. 

These charitable entities were established by the University of Cambridge in the 1980s with the aim of providing financial support to international students pursuing degree courses at Cambridge. 

The Trust is an advocate for international education, offering approximately 500 scholarships each year and supporting between 1,100 and 1,400 students from 85 different countries.

- The Trust does not usually support students at a degree level that is the same as or lower than a degree they already hold. 

However, there are exceptions, such as students required to take a second Masters degree at Cambridge for admission to a PhD or international students pursuing a second BA degree.

- The Trust does not provide scholarships for post-doctoral positions, visiting or exchange students, or part-time postgraduate degrees.

 Additionally, part-time undergraduate study is not available at the University of Cambridge.
