Bangor University, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, is offering six scholarships for master's studies at Bangor University starting in September 2024.

These scholarships, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), are known as Commonwealth Master's Scholarships. 

They aim to empower talented and motivated individuals by providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary for sustainable development, making it accessible to those who might not otherwise afford to study in the UK.

About Bangor University:

Bangor University, located in Bangor, Wales, is a prestigious public institution. Established in 1885 with its Royal Charter, it was one of the founding members of the federal University of Wales. 

Originally known as the University College of North Wales (UCNW), and later as the University of Wales, Bangor (UWB), it became an independent entity, Bangor University, in 2007, breaking away from the University of Wales.

Benefits of Bangor University Commonwealth Scholarships:

These scholarships cover approved airfare from your home country to the UK and a return ticket at the end of your award. 

Additionally, they include tuition fees, a living allowance stipend of £1,347 per month, a thesis grant for dissertation preparation (where applicable), warm clothing allowance, visa reimbursement (where applicable), and a study travel grant for study-related travel expenses within the UK or overseas.

Please note that no additional allowances are available for spouses or dependents.

Requirements for Bangor University Commonwealth Scholarships Qualification:

To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must:

1. Be a citizen of an eligible Commonwealth country or have been granted refugee status, or be a British Protected Person.

2. Be a permanent resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.

3. Be available to commence your academic studies in the UK at the start of the academic year in September 2024.

4. By September 2024, possess a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honors standard or a second class degree (2:2) along with a relevant postgraduate qualification (typically a Master's degree). The CSC would generally not fund a second UK Master's degree, so applicants applying for a second one must provide a justification for their study choice.

5. Demonstrate financial need and an inability to study in the UK without this scholarship.

6. Submit all supporting documents in the required format.

7. Candidates should refer to the nominating agency for specific application guidelines, eligibility criteria, and rules.

How to Apply for Bangor University 2024 Commonwealth Masters Scholarships:

Applications must be submitted through the CSC's online application system. 

Candidates are required to apply through one of the designated nominating bodies as the CSC does not accept direct applications for these scholarships. 

The primary application routes include national nominating agencies and selected non-governmental organizations and charitable bodies.
