Job Position: Development Project Manager

At GBfoods, we are in search of a Development Project Manager who will become an integral part of our Africa Technical Team. 

In this role, you will take the lead in executing and overseeing the development of innovative and updated product prototypes. 

Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring that projects align with the defined requirements, including technical, economic, and legal aspects. 

Additionally, you will manage the industrial upscaling of these projects to stimulate innovation and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

As the Development Project Manager, you will:

1. Lead Project Teams: From the initial brief to the final plant implementation of the product, you will be at the helm, defining formulations, overseeing pilot plant/plant trials, making shelf-life decisions, managing project timelines, coordinating with stakeholders, and more.

2. Collaborate Across Departments: You will work closely with various teams, including Marketing, Factory, Purchasing, Co-manufacturers, and other technical functions, to ensure seamless project execution.

3. Project Management: You'll effectively manage multiple projects and collaborative partnerships, challenge assumptions, and identify new opportunities. 

Applying critical thinking and learnings to achieve project objectives will be a core aspect of your role.

4. Follow Company Policies: Adhering to prescribed procedures, company policies, and values, you'll contribute to maintaining product quality and ensuring consumer satisfaction.

Requirements

Technical Competencies

- A graduate degree in Food Science, Food Process, or Agricultural Engineering.

- A minimum of 5 years' experience in project management of product development and efficiency projects, preferably in the dry convenience foods or dry ingredients sector. Experience in spice development is a must.

- Experience in managing complex, multi-site, or multi-company projects.

- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and quality assurance.

- Familiarity with SAP and standard MS Office and project management software.

- Excellent knowledge of English and Spanish; knowledge of other European languages is a plus.

- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

- Analytical thinking and the ability to make evidence-based judgments that guide organizational decisions.
