French Government 2024 Eiffel Excellence Scholarship for Masters & PhD Students

The French Government 2024 Eiffel Excellence Scholarship for Masters & PhD Students was initiated by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs with the aim of attracting outstanding international students to pursue their master's and doctoral studies in French higher education institutions.

This prestigious scholarship program is designed to prepare future leaders from various countries, both in the public and private sectors, in strategically important fields of study.

It provides a unique opportunity for young scholars, especially those under 25 years old from developing nations pursuing master's degrees, and candidates under 30 years old from both developing and industrialized nations pursuing PhD degrees.

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme is administered by Campus France, an official entity responsible for promoting French higher education to students residing abroad.

Campus France not only offers valuable information about the educational opportunities available in France but also guides students through the necessary administrative processes to make their academic aspirations a reality.

As a public institution, Campus France is dedicated to fostering international collaboration by welcoming foreign students and researchers to France.

Requirements for Qualification for the French Government Eiffel Excellence Scholarship:

To be eligible for the Eiffel Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

- Only foreign nationals are eligible to apply for this scholarship from the French Government.

- Applicants with dual nationality, including French nationality, are ineligible.

- For master's level, candidates must be under 30 years old as of the selection committee meeting in March 2021. For PhD level, candidates must be under 35 years old as of the same date.

- Only applications submitted by French educational institutions are accepted. These institutions commit to enrolling scholarship recipients in the selected program.

Applications submitted through other means will not be considered. Additionally, candidates nominated by multiple institutions will be disqualified.

- The scholarships are intended for students enrolling in a master's program, including those at engineering schools, and for PhD students.

The Eiffel Programme does not apply to French-run master's programs abroad, as non-PhD scholarship recipients must complete at least 75% of their coursework in France. It also does not apply to apprenticeship contracts or professional training contracts.

- Educational institutions selecting non-French speaking applicants must ensure that their French language proficiency is sufficient for successful integration into the chosen program.

- Combination with other scholarships: Foreign students who have already received a French government scholarship from another program at the time of application are not eligible, even if the prior scholarship does not include social security coverage.

- Eiffel PhD scholarships: Institutions can nominate a candidate who previously received an Eiffel scholarship at the master's level for a PhD scholarship.

Candidates who have already received an Eiffel scholarship during their PhD studies cannot receive it a second time.

No applications will be accepted from students who previously applied and were rejected, even if the application is submitted by a different institution or in a different field of study.

- Eiffel master's scholarships: No applications will be accepted from students who previously applied and were rejected, even if the application is submitted by a different institution or in a different field of study. Students who have already been awarded an Eiffel scholarship at the master's level cannot reapply at the same level.
