IBM 2024 Masters Fellowship Awards
IBM places a high value on fostering strong collaboration with faculty, students, and universities.
The IBM Masters Fellowship Program is designed to advance this collaboration by recognizing and supporting exceptional Master's students who are passionate about making their mark in emerging and disruptive technologies, regardless of their field of study.
This program is open to candidates currently enrolled in Master's programs across a wide spectrum, including sciences, arts, nursing, business, law, and more, with a particular focus on the following topics:
- Hybrid Cloud
- Cybersecurity
- Semiconductors
- Artificial Intelligence
In its fourth year, the IBM Masters Fellowship Program aims to enhance diversity and inclusivity by increasing the participation of underrepresented minority students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the mentioned science-related fields.
This initiative encourages a broader applicant pool, particularly from historically Black colleges and universities in the United States.

Benefits of IBM Masters Fellowship Awards
The IBM Masters Fellowships are one-year awards presented to students from historically Black colleges and universities in the United States. The US country award amounts to $10,000 for a single award year.
Requirements for IBM Masters Fellowship Awards Qualification
To qualify for the IBM Masters Fellowship, students must meet the following criteria:
- Students must be nominated by a faculty member.
- They should be full-time Master's program students.
- Students must have a minimum of 6 months remaining in their graduate program at the time of nomination.
- Award recipients will be selected based on their potential for academic excellence, the alignment of their technical interests with IBM's, and their academic progress up to that point.
This selection is further substantiated by endorsements from their faculty advisor and department head.
- Students who receive a comparable fellowship from another company or institution (excluding academic scholarships) during the same IBM-funded academic period may not be eligible for an IBM Masters Fellowship.
- Ensure that university credential email addresses are correctly entered in the nomination form.
