Every year, the Internet Society selects fifteen young individuals who exhibit passion and drive to participate in their Youth Ambassador Program.
This program is designed to empower the next generation of Internet leaders, fostering collaboration and innovation for a better world.

Requirements for Internet Society’s IGF Youth Ambassador Program Qualification:
All applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age between 18-30 at the time of application submission.
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English.
- Comfort with public speaking and communicating positions effectively.
- Continuous access to the Internet and necessary equipment throughout the program.
- A commitment to dedicating a minimum of 4 hours per week during the program's duration.
- Availability to participate in weekly meetings and webinars, typically scheduled between 11:00 and 16:00 UTC.
- Ability to travel and possession of a valid passport.
- No prior selection as an Internet Society’s IGF Ambassador, IGF Youth Ambassador, Youth@IGF Fellow, or Youth Ambassador.
The selection process occurs annually, with applications opening in October. It comprises two phases:
1. Online Application: A selection committee assesses applications to choose Youth Ambassadors. This committee, consisting of Internet Society staff, alumni, and Chapter/Special Interest Group/Standing Group leaders, strives for diversity in terms of profession, geography, and gender.
2. Online Internet Governance Course: The highest-scoring applicants undergo an online course on Internet Governance. Participants are divided into three classes, each led by a dedicated tutor to facilitate learning. The top 15 students are selected for the program.
Program Timeline for Internet Society IGF 2023 Youth Ambassador Program:
- October 2, 2023: Online application submissions open.
- October 20, 2023: Application submissions close.
- Mid-January 2024: Final selection and program kick-off.
