What Does a Field Engineer Do?

As a Field Engineer at Baker Hughes, you are the vital link between our on-site teams and our clients. Your role involves technical and professional responsibilities, leading crews to ensure the proper installation, maintenance, and operation of equipment. 

Your innovative contributions will play a key part in creating reliable and high-quality support for our customers. Some of your responsibilities as part of the Early Career Program include:

- Coordinating with crew members to deploy tools and services, including liaising with customers and shore-based Operations Managers.

- Participating in solving complex technical problems through hands-on work at the rig site.

- Preparing, documenting, and managing the movement of equipment and products to and from the well site.

- Providing support for tenders, including data analysis and cost estimates, and performing invoicing activities.

- Engaging in job shadowing opportunities to gain a holistic understanding of the business.

Qualifications and Benefits

To excel in this role, you should have:

- A bachelor’s degree in engineering (in any field), Mathematics, Chemistry, Geosciences, or similar, received within the last 36 months.

- A GPA greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0 (or equivalent).

- Proficiency in written and spoken English, with strong communication skills.

- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team and guide others.

- Strong leadership, critical thinking, numerical, data analysis, and project management skills.

- The legal right to work in the country you are applying to, without company sponsorship or time restrictions.
