In the derby at Old Trafford, Manchester City easily prevailed 3-0, and Erling Haaland added insult to injury for Manchester United.
The first penalty that City had gained at Old Trafford in the Premier League era was converted by Haaland after the VAR flagged Rasmus Hojlund's grasp at Rodri during a set-piece, Sportingnews observed.
In first-half stoppage time, Scott McTominay forced a brilliant save out of Ederson, but early in the second half, Haaland gave United a mountain to climb when he headed home a chipped cross from the outstanding Bernardo Silva.
Ten minutes from time, Haaland found Phil Foden, setting him up for an easy close-range finish. Despite this, the gap between the Manchester clubs remained unbridgeable on the pitch.
