University of Lausanne (UNIL) in Switzerland offers Master's Grants to international students keen on pursuing their master's degree for the academic year 2024-2025. Each year, about ten scholarships are awarded.

UNIL Master’s Scholarship 2024/2025 Application: Courses Offered

Applications are not accepted for the following programs:

- Master from the School of Medicine

- Master of education

- Master of Science in Physical Education and Sports Didactics

- Master of Science in Health sciences

- Master of Law from the Universities of Zurich and Lausanne

- Master of criminal Law, magistracy specialism

- All MASs (PhD programmes)

Note: For the Master of Law, only the "international and comparative law" and "legal theory" specializations are eligible for Master's scholarship applications.

Scholarship Coverage

The University of Lausanne Scholarship offers the following benefits to its awardees:

- The scholarship covers the minimum statutory duration of the selected program. It provides CHF 1,600 monthly from 15 September to 15 July (or 10 months annually) throughout the Master's course (either one and a half or two years based on the chosen master's). This excludes instances of definitive failure after the initial year.

- It's important for candidates to understand that the scholarship amount is not adequate for living expenses in Switzerland.

- In light of this, candidates are encouraged to refer to a specific page detailing the estimated student budget at UNIL.

- Scholarship recipients will not be charged the standard course registration fees, but they must pay a CHF 80.00 fee each semester.

UNIL Master’s Scholarship 2024/2025 Application Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the University of Lausanne Scholarship, applicants must meet all the criteria listed below:

- Language Proficiency: Either English or French.

- Citizenship: Open to all nationalities.

- Must have demonstrated academic excellence, particularly through outstanding academic achievements.

- Must possess a foreign university degree that is deemed equivalent to a bachelor's degree at UNIL prior to commencing the master's programme at UNIL.

- Must not have previously enrolled at UNIL.

- Must possess a language proficiency of at least B2 level (as per the European Language Portfolio global scale) in French or English, depending on the language of instruction for the chosen master's program.

- Must have paid the CHF 200.00 administrative fee.

How to Apply for UNIL Master’s Scholarship 2024/2025

To secure the University of Lausanne Scholarship, adhere to the instructions below.

Necessary Documents for the UNIL Master’s Grants:

- A passport-sized photo to be embedded in the application form (JPEG format).

- Fully filled and signed application form.

- An authenticated copy of your academic degrees and transcripts from all university exams undertaken.

- Your high school diploma's copy. If not in French, German, English, or Italian, an authenticated or notarized translation is required.

- If your bachelor's degree is still pending, provide the program description of your last semester.

- A copy of your passport or ID card.

- An introductory letter.

- A detailed resume.

- An official certificate proving language proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS for English; DALF or DELF for French). A B2 level is essential for course comprehension.

- Two sealed, original recommendation letters from the applicant's professors.

- A receipt confirming the payment of the CHF 200.00 administrative fee (for application processing).

The candidate should fill out the application form using a computer and provide their signature. The Masters scholarship application also acts as an application for entry to your preferred master's program, which in turn is an application for registration at UNIL.
