BI Presidential Scholarships for International Master's Students 2025-2025

The BI Presidential Scholarships recognize students with an exceptional track record of academic excellence. These scholarships are available to both Norwegian and international candidates.

Important Points to Note about the BI Presidential Scholarships 2024-2025 for International Masters Students 

  • Applicants may submit applications for multiple scholarships, but BI Norwegian Business School will award only one scholarship per applicant.
  • Awarded scholarships are specific to an academic program at a designated campus and are non-transferable.
  • International candidates eligible for a student loan in Norway from LÃ¥nekassen (with a 180 ECTS bachelor’s degree from a Norwegian educational institution) will be considered domestic applicants for scholarship purposes, excluding stipends for living costs.
  • Priority is given to applicants pursuing their first master’s degree; those with a previously earned master's degree are not prioritized for scholarships.
  • Only candidates admitted to a Master of Science program starting in Autumn 2023 will be eligible for consideration.

Aim and Benefits of BI Presidential Scholarships 2024-2025 | International Masters Students 

For Norwegian and international applicants residing in Norway:

  • Full tuition fees are covered for each semester, up to two years, contingent on meeting academic progression requirements.

For Siviløk applicants:

  • Full tuition fees are covered for each semester, up to two years, contingent on meeting academic progression requirements.

For International Applicants:

  •  Full tuition fees and a stipend for each semester, up to two years, contingent on meeting academic progression requirements. The stipend assists with living expenses but covers approximately 70% of total expenses.

Requirements for BI Presidential Scholarships 2024-2025 | International Masters Students 

  • Candidates must have a minimum overall GPA of 'A' on the ECTS scale or its equivalent on international grade scales.
  • Students in the 3rd year of the Siviløk program are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates with Norwegian citizenship or international citizenship from EU/EEA/Switzerland.
  • Citizens of non-EU/EEA countries residing in Norway may be eligible based on residency status (refer to the list on the website). Include residency documentation with the scholarship application letter if applicable.
  • International applicants (all citizenships) who moved to Norway for their bachelor studies and will complete a bachelor’s degree in Norway (full 180 ECTS) in the spring of the application year.
  • Candidates admitted to a Master of Science degree program at campus Oslo or campus Bergen, excluding the BI-Luiss Joint Masters in Marketing.
  • Note: International applicants with citizenship from outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland who are not residents of Norway are not eligible for this scholarship.

All candidates must meet academic progression requirements, as detailed in the BI Presidential Scholarships 2024-2025 Agreement:

  • Full study progression (30 ECTS) in each semester.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of a "B" on the BI ECTS scale after each academic semester.
  • BI Presidential Scholarships recipients must act as "BI Ambassadors," assisting in recruitment efforts and promoting a positive study environment.
  • BI offers a generous scholarship program for master’s studies, with selection based on academic merit. The competition is intense, and scholarships are distributed based on institutional priorities, which may include specific master’s programs, diversity, gender distribution, or selected partner schools of BI.
  • Applicants must be admitted to a Master of Science program and follow the prescribed application process.
  • Scholarship applications are considered only after acceptance of the admission offer.
  • BI ensures equitable scholarship distribution across MSc programs.
  • Factors influencing awarding may include academic achievements, GMAT/GRE/CAT scores, extracurricular achievements, and special personal accomplishments.
  • International applicants for the BI Presidential Scholarship are also considered for the MSc International Scholarship.

Notification of Award:

  • Scholarship offers are not included with admission offers; the admission offer is received first.
  • Applicants must accept the offer of admission while awaiting scholarship decisions.
  • Scholarship offers will be sent to selected candidates during the admission cycle.
  • Accepted scholarships must be acknowledged by the specified deadline, or they will be withdrawn and awarded to another candidate.
  • All scholarships, except the A. Wilhelmsen Foundation Scholarship and BI-Luiss Joint Master in Marketing Scholarship, will be awarded by the end of April.

  • Applicants, both selected and not selected, will be notified of the scholarship decision by the end of April.
  • Scholarship decisions are final and cannot be appealed.

How to Apply for BI Presidential Scholarships 2024-2025

Interested and qualified individuals can apply on the BI Norwegian Business School's online application portal at here.

  • Scholarship applications are not accepted via email, except for 3rd-year Siviløk applicants (see below).
  • Submit scholarship application letters concurrently with admission applications on the online portal.
  • The one-page scholarship application letter should outline why the applicant deserves consideration based on academic merit, not financial need.
  • Upload the letter to the 'Scholarship' section in the online application for admission.
  • Include all required documentation for evaluation for admission to a Master of Science program. The scholarship application is considered only when a complete admission application is submitted and accepted.
  • Siviløk 3rd-year students must email scholarship application letters to info@bi.no with the subject line: BI Presidential Scholarship Application.
  • International applicants for the BI Presidential Scholarship are automatically considered for the MSc International Scholarship without the need for a separate application.
  • Complete admission applications, including scholarship applications, must be uploaded to the online portal; email submissions for scholarships are not accepted.

Late applications will not be considered.
