Akosombo Dam spillage; Bakpa receives support from Olu of Warri and DAF
Following the devasting effects of the Akosombo Dam spillage on the residents living within the enclave, the Olu of the Warri Kingdom of Nigeria, His Royal Majesty(HRM), Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR in collaborations with the Diaspora Africa Forum(DAF)Head of Mission, H.E.Ambassador Dr. Eriekaa Bennett has supported residents of Bakpa of the Volta Region with assorted relief items. Chief Engineer Olley Wilson Edun made the donation of assorted items to the victim on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse and his kingdom within the Delta State of Nigeria. Presenting the relief items at a short durbur at Bakpa, Chief Dr. Engr. Olley Wilson Edun, the Aboludero of Warri Kingdom popularly known as Opuaro bemoaned the sad situation describing it as unfortunate. Comforting the victim, he disclosed that the devastating flood situation was once battled by Nigeria therefore could relate to the sad memories and effects on the residents. He observed that it was in that regard His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwaste III thought it wise to commensurate with the victims adding, "We are one people regardless of the boundaries".In a statement,H.E. Erieka Bennett expressed her heartfelt appreciation to HRM Ogiame Atuwaste III CFR for being a king for the people and with the people even in time in need. She further added that the DAF, being an appendage of the African Union as a Diplomatic Mission, she applaud the benevolence of Olu of Warri, HRM, Ogiame Atuwaste III CFR and reaffirming that unity is strength.
