Even in war zones, couples have sex – MP slams minister over farmer's 'sex rights' in 24-hour economy

In a recent social media post on X, Dr. Clement Apaak, the Member of Parliament for Builsa South, expressed disbelief and criticism towards the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu, for suggesting that farmers risk losing their wives if former President John Dramani Mahama's proposed 24-hour economy is implemented.

The controversy arises from Yakubu's comments, where he implied that the nature of farming activities during the proposed 24-hour economy could disrupt the personal lives of farmers. Dr. Apaak countered this notion, emphasizing that couples in war-torn countries still manage to maintain intimate relationships.

"The comments of the Upper East Regional Minister in reaction to JM's much-welcomed 24-hour economy proposal in the attached video typify the silly and deliberate ignorance of Dr. Bawumia and the NPP," Dr. Apaak wrote in his social media post.

The Builsa South MP called on Ghanaians to reject what he perceives as baseless claims by NPP members, asserting that the opposition is intentionally making absurd statements against Mahama's policy proposal because they are aware of its widespread acceptance among the public.

Dr. Apaak further questioned the relevance of the 24-hour economy to farmers' personal lives, stating, "What has a 24-hour economy got to do with farming at night and sleeping or not sleeping with wives at night? Don't men in 24-hour economies sleep with their wives? Even in war zones, couples manage to do the needful."

The post concluded with a strong call for Ghanaians to reject the NPP, characterizing the government as "USELESS, corrupt, and reckless." Dr. Apaak believes that the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia NPP government must be held accountable for the perceived hardships inflicted on the Ghanaian population.
