Lionel Messi, Mesut Ozil mourn death of Maradona

Argentine skipper, Diego Armando Maradona, has died from heart attack at his home two weeks after he underwent brain surgery.

The football world has been thrown into the state of mourning after news broke about the demise of once a great world-class football.

Notable footballers who took to their social media handle to pay tribute included Barcelona’s Lionel Messi who said “it’s a very sad day for all Argentines and football. He leaves us but does not leave because Diego is eternal”

Mesut Ozil wrote ” very sad news. One of the best number 10 the world of football has ever seen has passed away. You will be missed, legend. Rest in peace”
