Nana Oduro Sarfo, a member of the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Executive Council, believes Accra Hearts of Oak may qualify for the CAF Champions League group stages provided they can hold Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club for the first 20 minutes of their second leg encounter.

When the two sides met in the first leg encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium, Hearts of Oak narrowly defeated WAC 1-0 in a game that the phobians dominated but couldn’t convert their opportunities.

In the 41st minute of the game, Isaac Mensah was the hero, diverting a cross from Salifu Ibrahim from the left wing into the net.

“Hearts Of Oak should be very careful about the Morocco weather and the North Africans are very dangerous for first 20minutes,
Hearts need to hold them for first 20minutes if they are able to hold them, I think Hearts can make it to the group stage” he told Kumasi based Light FM.

He adds that phobians should be aware of the extreme weather conditions that occur in Morocco’s Maghrib region, since they might inflict a lot of damage to the players.

The match will take place at 19:00 GMT on Sunday, October 24th at the Stade V Mohammed.

The team that wins both legs advances to the group stage, while the loser is relegated to the CAF Confederations Cup.
