Each year on 2nd of December, Ghana celebrates farmers across the nation.

The 2022 Farmers’ Day celebration has taken place and various farmers in each district in Ghana were recognized for their efforts in producing food for the citizens.

The celebration, organized annually, did not end without the presence of BorlaPlast, an initiative that aims to reduce the issue of plastic menace in the Ayawaso North and subsequently the country at large.

The bins placed at vantage points for attendees

The initiative’s founder, Abubakar Issaka, presented bins made from used plastic bottles of various beverages, mostly of “Beta malt”. The presentation took place at the Ayebeng Memorial School park, Maamobi.

According to Mr. Issaka, the bins were showcased to the attendees at the ceremony to create more awareness and to further educate them on how to utilize these bins.
