Dr. Papa Kwesi Ndoum, former Progressive Peoples’ Party (PPP) flagbearer, has declared that manufacturing has started at the GN Industries facility in Elmina, Cape Coast.
On August 11, 2023, he posted a picture of two spoons made by the company on his official Facebook page, at which point he made the announcement.

He continued by stating that because the company’s deposits were also blocked when GN Bank’s license was suspended, production of the primary equipment that made the spoons was halted for more than three years.
“It has been fixed today and working. As a result, five people and the Manager are working. #BringBackGNBank.” he wrote.

It can be recalled that on August 16, 2019, the Bank of Ghana collapsed more than 20 banks including GN Bank citing that GN Bank failed to comply with important prudential regulatory standards and the fact that GN was bankrupt, the Bank of Ghana canceled its savings and loans license.
This brought about public outrage as customers were concerned about their money in the closed banks and workers of the various banks losing their jobs.
