Few minutes after the declaration of the 2020 presidential election results, the office of John Mahama was rather in a sober state with very small engagement.
Scores of NDC party representatives besieged the headquarters of the Electoral Commission before the declaration of the results, protesting the results that represented a victory for the ruling New Patriotic Party at that time.
Nevertheless the winner of the 2020 general elections was elected President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Nana Akufo-Addo polled 6,730,413, representing 51,595 percent, while John Mahama won 6, 214, 889,
representing 47,366 percent, with a dozen candidates, in the 8th election in the 4th Republic.
