Madina MCE calls on Unions Leaders and Drivers to Cooperate with the private developer of the Lorry Station

The Municipal Chief Executive(MCE), of the LaNkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly, Mrs. Jenifer Dede Adjabeng has made a passionate call on Union leaders, Drivers, and commuters to cooperate with the private developer to construct the main station into a modern Lorry station.

According to the MCE, there have been several engagements between the leaders of the various unions, the private investor (Decor Build) and the Assembly.

She added that all the parties involved are aware of the new development at the Lorry station so its wield  that some of the drivers and union leaders are making unnecessary comments on the project.

Mrs. Jennifer Dede Adjabeng confirmed that her outfit will monitor the project from time to time to ensure fast and smooth work done.

Speaking to Kingdom News reporters, Elvis Kumah Sampson, the MCE urged commuters to exercise patience because the project will not take much time and also appealed to the affected drivers plying from Madina to Ashaiman, Koforidua, Somanya, Ho, Hohoe and others to perch with their colleagues on the other side of the Lorry station.

On the part of the contractor, Mr. Ernest Nii Ama Quartey, said the private investor (Decor Build) served the unions with official letter to evacuate the said portion of the station 5days ago before they official came in yesterday to kick start the project. He assured that the construction of the Lorry station will last for only 60 days.

On Security wise, the Divisional Chief Commander of the Madina Police Command, Chief Supt. Cosmos A. Anyan has debunked the rumors that the contractor attacked the drivers and the union leaders in a Rambo style with armed men and land guards. He stressed that when he visited the scene there was no such thing so the rumors are false.
