HRRG requests GES to provide reports of Disciplinary Committee’s investigations on Annor Adjaye SHS flogging

July 7, 2022

The Disciplinary Committee findings on the Annor Adjaye SHS flogging controversy are being sought by the Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG).

The HRRG requested GES to give it the full findings and specifics of their investigation into the situation in a letter dated July 6, 2022, in response to the statement GES made in an interview.

“Following your pronouncement while granting an interview on Angel FM’s Anopa Bofo on Monday, June 27, 2022, you’ve publicly revealed that some of the perpetrators e been demoted as sanctions meted out to them by your outfit considering that the teachers are first-time offenders” the HRRG stated.

Further, the HRRG emphasized that it is in the public’s interest for GES to disclose the specifics of the outcome in order to advance its (HRRG’s) inquiry and keep the public informed.

“…we hold the view that due to the magnitude of public interest that this matter exudes, there’s the need to be served with these details to help us advance our investigation and continue to inform the public accordingly on the development of the saga”
